Software Case

Big data tools for Deutsche Telekom

Unlocking the value of data is key to success and a principle embraced by Deutsche Telekom AG. An immense stream of data needs to be processed and evaluated for which a comprehensive software suite got developed in-house, tailored to the needs of numerous Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and other experts.

Objectives

Challenges faced by data scientists, -analysts, and -engineers working across various locations needed to be addressed. The goal was to foster collaboration, improve efficiency, and eliminate redundant efforts.

Process

We developed a cloud-based suite of tools to create, share, and collaborate globally. Working with remote teams in India, Poland, Croatia and Germany, I led the UX- and UI design for four major tools:

  • "Halo Marketplace" for sharing data-driven use cases

  • “Data Integration Layer” for creating data pipelines

  • "Model Manager" for analytics and ML/AI models

  • "Argus" for ensuring quality for data engineers

Branding & Communication

Internal communication asked for logos, landing pages, presentations, a how-to video, etc.

Result

The close collaboration with end-users throughout the agile development process has played a significant role in fostering the enthusiasm of stakeholders and future users across all involved markets.
